The Eena Project
Need a place to stay???
Check out these houses on The Outer Banks.
The owners and rental companies
are wonderful!

The Eena Project was created to educate others on rip currents and other beach related hazards.
In September of 2006, Kristina (Eena) Koles drowned as a result of a rip current on The Outer Banks.
She was our daughter, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend.
Education is key and we do not want any other families to experience the tragedy we had that day.
Please use this site and the links to educate your family.

The Eena Project is a
non profit group that provides

education for beach communities.
In order to do so, we are funded by those that donate.

We have several items
that we will send to those to
thank you for your help.

DONATE

Rip Current Escape

If you are caught in a rip current,
you will feel like you are being
pulled out further.

STAY CALM

You will not be able to swim directly
back to shore. Instead

SWIM PARALLEL

Until you are out the rip current and
swim diagonal back to shore
